Ascot Park Hotel Invercargill, Invercargill

I had a surprisingly pleasant stay at this hotel. The apartment was newly furnished, spacious, and clean, which made for a comfortable experience. The highlight was definitely the dining; the Roast of the Day was excellent and the dessert, a version of Tiramisu, was big enough to share and utterly delicious. On the downside, I had high expectations for the service, but it could have been better overall.

I had a really enjoyable stay at this hotel while traveling along the Southern Scenic Highway. The unique room setup was convenient, allowing me to park right outside my door, which made unloading luggage super easy. The indoor pool was a nice touch after a long day on the road, even though it was a bit smaller than I expected. Dining in the bar was a highlight — those burgers were absolutely delicious! While the staff were friendly and accommodating, there were a few minor hiccups with room types and the dining options could use some lighter choices. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with just a few areas for improvement.

But overall, the experience was fantastic and great value for money.

My stay at the motel was mixed. While the room was spacious and had some nice features, the distance from the town center and the lack of air conditioning were drawbacks.
